Hi, I'm Hannah, also known as i_smell_a_dante, and this is my art appreciation journal. Here I plan on showing pictures that I like, participating in art communities, and just generally appreciating the visual arts. I myself am not an artist, nor a critic, but merely a lover of all things visual. My passion is for renaissance art, though of course I love some more modern artists as well. My favorite artists of all time are (in no particular order): Leonardo da Vinci (duh), Michaelangelo, William Blake, Edward Gorey, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Rafael (Rafaello Sanzio), Rembrandt, Edvard Munch, Francisco de Goya, Salvador Dali, Frida Kalho, etc etc etc.

I'm also fastinated by ancient art, especially that of the egyptians and greeks. Another thing I love in general are portraits. Oh man, portraits are great. And death masks, which certainly qualify as art. Anything that can capture a person's physical features like that is pretty awesome.

I also love some "less sophisticated" art, that of comics and animations. I have to say, I flip for disney movies, especially the old ones. And I absolutely love the Calvin and Hobbes comics, which, you have to admit, are very well drawn.

Oh, and I moderate the community art_requests. It's a community for people who can't draw to request art, and for people who can draw to do so!
